The ringing in the ears cause is normally Tinnitus, a medical term for the ringing noise that you hear in one ear, both ears or in your head. The ringing sound you hear does not come from outside the head, although it sometimes may sound as if it does.
Tinitus is that terrible ringing ears or other ear noises that often follows exposure to loud noise. You may have noticed this after you have been to a loud music concert or when you are confined in one place with another loud noise.
The Tinnitis sound is normally linked with some loss of hearing and most people can identify a pattern between the ringing in the ears cause (event) and effect (indication). When your Tinnitis develops enough to become a problem you will need to seek medical advice, as a doctor must carefully look at possible causes and exclude any medically treatable condition. This is a very difficult ailment to treat and certainly, one of the most difficult therapeutical problems for the otolaryngologist.
Tinnitis is a debilitating condition that affects up to 50 million Americans to some degree, and 12 million of them severely. This ailment can cause a considerable amount of discomfort and can seriously interfere with your ability to lead a normal life.
Tinnitus causes and the treatment of the ailment have been the object of much research, with some even suggesting that a person’s state of mind has something to do with how tinnitus is experienced. Tinitus is annoying but is not dangerous. However, we should end on a cautionary note: If you are experiencing a ringing noise please make sure you go to the Medical Doctor, especially an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor.
Some Steps To Ease Common Tinnitus Symptoms
- Try to avoid all loud and noisy places.
- Total silence will make tinitus seem louder – try and mask the tinnitus with white noise.
- Refrain from excessive use of alcohol, caffeine, or aspirin.
- Make sure you wear ear protection when using power tools, chain saws, guns, lawn mowers or loud music.
- Learn how to control stress levels.
Exposure to any loud noises can make tinitus worse and can also cause additional hearing loss.
